Now That I’m 22 ~

“Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is a choice.”

My life isn’t the kind that you can put in a novel or a movie. It’s simple that’s why I don’t have much to say about it. I grew up in an ordinary family. My parents are strict, that’s why most of my time is spent at home, writing, reading, doing arts and things like that. Two years ago, I remember posting a similar blog entry like this in my Tumblr account. That’s when I was turning twenty. All my realizations and lessons learned are there. This year, I wanted to add up to those things.

After a couple of years, I realized that “being happy” is the goal that I’m trying to figure out all these years. I grew up always having future plans and schedules, which isn’t a bad thing, but I realized that sometimes, it feels good to just let my self indulge in the world of the unknown. I learned to enjoy life’s surprises and simply give my best to whatever comes my way. I learned to be brave enough to let go of certain dreams, and be open to create new ones. I learned to trust people again, and forget all of the pains and not dig up the past anymore. I found a way to get my self out of the “complicated”, and learned to just enjoy and make every single day worth living. I learned to love wholeheartedly, without second thoughts and fear. All in all, I learned to appreciate life, both the good and the bad about it.

Happiness is indeed a choice. That is why I choose to be happy, not just for now, but for always.

So here’s to the brand new year for me and I wish for more years, more love, more blessings and more happy moments to come. Thank you! For being part of my life! 😉
